Some photos of my visit to Ernabella in 1984 (I was 28) … back then I was immersed in textile dyeing and batik and made a special journey to meet the artists at Ernabella as they were very successful batik artists at that time. Winifred Hilliard was the arts coordinator back then. That’s her sitting on the rock with me. The artists came to Sydney after this visit and we worked on their naphthol dyeing techniques at the Craft Centre at UNSW. Wonderful memories! I have sent the photos along to Ernabella and they are working on identifying the artists in the images and are adding the photos to their archive.
Special things … Triennale moments.
From the centre to the edge …
Market Day, a ceramics exhibition in an aviation museum, a journey to Hermannsburg and a stop on the way home …
The last day of the 16th Australian Ceramics Triennale … kangaroo tails, Rona, disappearing forms and all the rest. A huge thanks to the team @australianceramicstriennale ❤️🙏🤗
Australian Ceramics Triennale day 3 - colours abound along with talented artists!
